Coleman Law Firm

Attorney Jeffrey P. Coleman answers a common question about independent legal advice.

Video Transcript: In order to prove independent legal advice, it’s a good idea for you to establish what kind of relationship there was between the decedent and the attorney and also (it) is important to establish the relationship between the beneficiary of the will that you seek to contest and that attorney. Certainly, if the decedent had a long-standing relationship with the attorney dating back 15 or 20 years and multiple wills that had been prepared by that attorney that would go a long way to show that that attorney was an independent attorney in preparing the will that is in contest.
