Let’s Laugh Day is Today!

While this sounds like a silly holiday, with what is going on in our world today, studies have shown that laughing is actually good for you.

Research has shown that just a few minutes of laughter can reduce blood pressure, help your immunity system, and increase your heart rate.  The best thing I’ve read is that it can also burn calories.  Who knows, maybe you can laugh your way out of having to go to the gym!

We’ve all heard that saying “turn your frown upside down.  I didn’t know it could actually be a way to use those muscles in your face than can help with frown lines.  Is it a miracle cure, but it’s something worth laughing about with your friends!

According to the Mayo Clinic, “Laughter can: stimulate many organs.  Laughter enhances your intake of oxygen-rich air, stimulates your heart, lungs and muscles, and increases the endorphins that are released by your brain!

Yes, we should all try to find some time to make someone else laugh; call someone you know that will make you laugh; watch that funny movie you’ve seen 100 times, but still makes you laugh.

I think we all could benefit from a good belly laugh.
