It is not necessary that you apply asset protection to all assets but understand that that which you do not plan for in advance, may be left exposed. It is also possible that you will not need to address asset protection issues with respect to exempt assets, that is, assets that are exempt from the claims of creditors, such as your homestead insurance products and the like. These are complicated issues, you’ll need a lawyer.
